There will be an announcement forthcoming regarding the forming of an elite 16A team to compete in the 2010 16A World Championships in Plant City Florida, December 31st through January 7.  There will be 40 teams from the United States and 24 teams from other countries participating in this first 16A World Championship.  The tournament is hosted by the ISF (International Softball Federation) and has been put together to help promote getting softball back into the Olympics.  Players from the 16A teams participating in the 2010 Valley Invitational College Exposure Tournament will be invited to come to a tryout session.  16 players will be selected from the tryout session to form the team. There are six games in pool play at the 16A World Cup Tournament followed by a single elimination round at the conclusion of pool play.  Oregon ASA has selected Wilbur Charters and Rob Ray, coaches for the 2009 16A ASA National Championship Northwest Blaze to coach the team. They will be assisted by daughters Ashley Charters and Whitney Ray.
